Celebrating 50 Years of Precision Manufacturing
Metal Cutting Corporation is genuinely thrilled to say we have just passed a significant milestone in our company history. We turned 50! Our company was founded on December 7, 1967, and we are very proud to still be here and thriving in 2017. We are immensely grateful to our customers for their business and our employees for their dedication. If you, dear reader, are one of our customers, we cannot thank you enough. Half a Century of Business, a Millennium of Expertise
There have been many achievements over the years, but of all our accomplishments we are perhaps most proud of creating and maintaining a positive work environment and, as a result, very low turnover. In fact, as we prepared to mark the occasion of our 50th birthday, we recently took a moment to calculate the cumulative years of service at our company. We were happy (and a little astonished) to discover we have almost 1,000 years — literally a millennium — of combined tenure here at Metal Cutting Corporation.
Always Growing Our Knowledge and Our Markets
We got our start with three individuals who brought together their respective technical, business, and financial backgrounds to establish our company 50 years ago today. At first, we served the solid state electronics market, which in its heyday consumed huge amounts of metal subcomponents, which we produced around the clock in the 1970s and accounts for our immense cutting capacity. Then in the 1980s, we discovered that our techniques were well suited to the emerging minimally invasive medical device market.
In the 1990s, automotive customers put us to work as the precision of engine components became vitally important in the face of ever stricter emission controls. As we entered the current century, we expanded our success through further diversification — continuing to serve the electronics, medical device, and automotive industries while customers in biotechnology, semiconductor, aerospace, fiber optic, and even traditional and general mechanical and electrical industries discovered the advantages of working with Metal Cutting Corporation as parts became even more precise and small. Here at Metal Cutting Corporation, we produce very high volumes of precision metal parts every day, and over the course of our half a century, we estimate we have produced more than a billion parts. All these parts share two characteristics: they are held to the tightest tolerances, and they are small — so small that we have always liked to say that compared with most high-volume manufacturing, our dimensions are their tolerances.
