Tungsten and molybdenum were the first metals we cut, ground, lapped, and polished, and Metal Cutting has been providing specialized products in these materials since 1967.

Today, our tungsten products include tungsten wires on spools and in straight lengths, in any diameter (≥ 0.00030″/0.007 mm) and any surface finish, from as-drawn to various grades of electropolished wire, as well as gold plated tungsten wires available in a range of plating thicknesses. Our molybdenum products are available in any round diameter (≥ 0.00030″/0.007 mm) and any surface finish, including as-drawn and a range of electropolished grades.

We produce tungsten wires and molybdenum ribbon in all compositions and surface finishes, including with gold plating, and width to thickness ratios under 1:10. Because we blend our own powders, we can supply tungsten and molybdenum products in a complete range of doped compositions, from the highest dopant and recrystallization properties to the industry’s only contaminant-free, 99.999% pure undoped tungsten wire.

Metal Cutting is also an expert in specialty refractory metal electrode materials including tungsten, molybdenum, and their alloys — supplying high-performance, durable electrodes used in automated resistance spot welding and die sinker EDM manufacturing environments that require the capacity for high speeds, large volumes, and long life.
